May is Women’s Health Month!
As women, we are nurturers and caregivers.  We are busy taking care of our loved ones, giving to our communities, our jobs, our families.  And it seems we put ourselves on the bottom of our to-do lists.   
Women’s Health Month is a reminder of the importance of self-care and healthy lifestyle habits—especially as we age!
As women, we need to ensure we are eating nutritious foods, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and managing any chronic health conditions. It is also important to take the time to practice self-care by engaging in nourishing activities that bring us joy, peace, and relaxation, such as yoga, meditation, enjoying nature, and reading a book.
Now more than ever, women of all ages are turning to yoga to reduce stress, relieve chronic pain, and manage certain health conditions.
Yoga is preventive care! 

Mindfulness practices, such as yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises, can help manage certain health conditions and can even lower the risk of developing diseases such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes. 
Yoga also helps us manage mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.  These practices allow us to connect to our sense of wholeness,  encourage self-compassion, and balance our nervous system.   This nurturing practice also allows us to connect to a caring community of like-minded people!

During the month of May, you are invited to enjoy free yoga classes Saturday afternoons at 12:15 PM!  These classes are gentle and beginner friendly and are perfect if you are new to yoga and curious about our studio.
